New Zealand's Tour Of India 2017: T20 International Series Report

Virat Kohli-led Team India bagged their 8th consecutive bilateral series win by defeating New Zealand by 6 runs in the rain-affected decider at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

It all started with both these team kicked-off their T20 mode in the series opener at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi where Team India continued their good form and registered a convince win over Kiwis. Overall, it was a quite one-sided game and the 54 runs victory margin proves this fact right. Also, it was the first time that India managed to beat New Zealand in a T20 International.

With nothing to lose and everything to win, New Zealand came with an aggressive approach and proper game plan at Rajkot. Batting first, New Zealand posted a mammoth total of 196 runs on the board, courtesy: Colin Munro's fiery century. In response, the home team fell 40 runs short - thanks to the disciplined bowling of Trent Boult, which never let the Indian batsmen except Captain Kohli settle in the middle.

With series evenly poised at 1-1, both the teams arrived at Thiruvananthapuram but rain had some other plans in-stored. After a rather delayed start, both the teams were given 8 overs a piece to prove their mettle. Batting first, Team India posted a decent total on the board, which was later defended by their exemplary bowling and fielding department. New Zealand bowlers kept losing wickets in their pursuit and managed to finish their innings falling 6 runs short of their target.
Team India is crowned as the Champions of Paytm T20 International Series for beating the hosts by 1-0 whereas Jasprit Bumrah is named as Man of the Series for delivering a classic bowling performance, throughout the series.
