Fastest to 15000, Virat Kohli continues his legendary run

In sports, numerous records are created and broken every single day. And in a country like India where Cricket as a game has a fan following that outnumbers the population of various countries, records are indeed taken very seriously. As the game is getting intense, we have a man from the team who is leaving no stones unturned in achieving as many feats as he can and although personal records may not be of much importance to the players, they mean the most to the fans and the country.

This stalwart is none other than the current Captain of the Indian Cricket Team - Virat Kohli.

In the past few years this man has been taking various records in his bag. The most recent one to be ticked off the list is a special one.

In the only T20 match between India & Sri Lanka played at Colombo, Virat Kohli  completed 15,000 International runs and became the fastest to do so (304 matches), also the only one to achieve it with an average of over 50. To add to the achievement, the skipper became the  3rd highest run scorer in T20 Internationals as he brought his Half Century. He currently stands with a tally of 1830 runs. The only 2 players who are ahead of the Captain are Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan (1889 runs) and New Zealand's Brendon McCullum (2140 runs).

This was Kohli's 50th T20 match and he almost took his team to a win, returning on a score of 82 after a stellar performance.

In the last One Day International of the Indian tour to Sri Lanka, Kohli smashed his 30th ODI ton; 2nd alongside Ricky Ponting in the most ODI Hundreds' list with Sachin Tendulkar in the lead (49 tons). Going by certain analyses it is being predicted that by the end of his career, Kohli might end up with 70-80 Hundreds in One Days alone. As of now his International Hundred tally is at 47.

Players have good patches followed by rough patches but in Virat Kohli's case there seem to none of the latter ones.
